Gorillas in the Mist. Serenity on the Lake.

Two Treasures. Three Days.

You have three days. You want to see mountain gorillas—the most profound wildlife encounter on earth. But you also crave a moment of peace, a place to let the experience settle into your bones. This is the perfect compromise.

First, you will trek into the misty heart of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. You will push through vines, climb steep hills, and feel your heart race—not just from the exertion, but from the anticipation. Then, you will see them. A silverback's steady gaze. A mother cradling her infant. For one sacred hour, time stops. You are not a tourist. You are a guest in their living room.

Then, you will descend to Lake Bunyonyi—the deepest lake in Uganda, the Place of Little Birds. Here, the only sounds are the gentle splash of a canoe paddle and the call of a fish eagle. You will drift across calm waters, visit island communities, and watch the sun set behind terraced hills. You will breathe. You will reflect. You will leave restored.

Gorillas and serenity. In just three days. This is the short escape you've been waiting for.

Your Journey Map

Three days. Two treasures. One unforgettable short escape.

Day 1

Journey to the Impenetrable Forest

Your adventure begins with a warm welcome at Entebbe International Airport or a pickup from your hotel in Kampala. Settle into your private 4x4 vehicle and begin the scenic drive southwest to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The journey takes you through the stunning Kigezi Highlands—often called the "Switzerland of Africa" for its terraced hills, winding roads, and emerald-green landscapes. Stop for lunch along the way. Arrive at your lodge in the late afternoon, nestled on the edge of the forest. Check in, enjoy a delicious dinner, and attend a briefing about tomorrow's gorilla trek. Rest well—tomorrow, you meet the giants.

Day 2

Face to Face with Giants

Screenshot 2026-03-30 111218.png

This is the day you came for. Early morning briefing at Bwindi park headquarters. You'll be assigned to a gorilla family based on your fitness level. Then, the trek begins. Duration: 2–7 hours depending on gorilla movement. Terrain: Steep, muddy, dense. When you find them, the world falls away. Spend one sacred hour observing these gentle giants—a silverback's steady gaze, a mother cradling her infant, juveniles playing in the vines. After the trek, return to the lodge for a celebratory lunch. Then, transfer to the breathtaking Lake Bunyonyi—the deepest lake in Uganda. Check into your lakeside lodge. Spend the evening relaxing by the water, watching the sun set behind the terraced hills.

• Meals: All meals included
• Accommodation: Arcadia Lodge Lake Bunyonyi (or similar mid-range lakeside lodge)

Day 3

The "Place of Little Birds"

Wake to the sound of birdsong. After breakfast, experience the serenity of Lake Bunyonyi. Take a traditional canoe ride across the calm waters, visiting some of the 29 islands. Your guide will share local legends and point out the rich birdlife—kingfishers, herons, and fish eagles. For the adventurous, swimming is safe here (one of the few lakes in Africa without bilharzia). Simply relax on the lodge terrace and soak in the views. After a final lunch overlooking the lake, begin your scenic journey back to Entebbe or Kampala. Arrive in the late afternoon. Drop off at Entebbe International Airport or your hotel. Your heart is full. Your soul is restored.
